Offering all our students
the highest quality training
At Blue Stone Medical & Professional, our Certification III Pathology Collection is for individuals in Rockhampton, Yatala and Gladstone who are interested in pursuing a career in the pathology field.
The goal of this course is to impart knowledge, skills and practical experience for various collections such as phlebotomy, venipuncture and collections other than blood. The program strives to teach workplace health and safety, infection control, laboratory systems, customer service, personal conduct, medical terminology and much more.
We offer several different classroom structures to our students, and each student is more than welcome to choose the plan that works best for them. Our course structure options include classroom delivery and blended delivery. Face to face training 2 days per week for 14 weeks with full time placement of 40 hours. Each delivery method involves learning practical skills as well as theoretical components, which means classroom attendance is required for both theory and practical component of the course to complete bleeds prior to any clinical placement in a pathology clinic.
HLT37215 – Certificate III Pathology Collection Clinical placement is 40 hours ( one full week of placement)
We take great pride in the quality of our campus, which is furnished with all the necessary equipment for our Certification III Pathology Collection course. We value safety and keep our class numbers small to ensure every student has an individualised and personal experience. We have the latest high quality equipment.
Blue Stone Medical & Professional advises all new students enrolling into our pathology course to ensure that their COVID, Hepatitis B, Measles and Rubella vaccinations are current, and we ask every student to provide a copy of their vaccination certificate for student records. We also require students going out on clinical placement, to have a current police check and blue card.
If participants do not already have one of these checks in place, a course advisor can assist in obtaining a police check during the enrolment process
If you are not currently enrolled in secondary school, do not hold a Certificate III or higher qualification and are over the age of 15, then you may qualify for financial assistance through the Queensland Department of Education and Training.
